IntraBot swiftly and efficiently responds to user queries

Sulava’s latest addition to the FAST intranet, the IntraBot, as the name suggests, retrieves information from your intranet and promptly answers your staff’s queries. Leveraging SharePoint’s indexing for information retrieval and Azure OpenAI for formulating responses, IntraBot can redirect queries to public sources or relevant contact persons if the answer isn’t found within the intranet.

IntraBot simplifies information retrieval and drastically reduces inquiries to IT, HR, or other support services. While a typical search retrieves answers directly quoted from the intranet contents, the IntraBot can apply and expand information as needed from public sources. For instance, when an employee looks to upgrade their work phone, a typical intranet search might yield information such as “budget for work phone” with a link to a page where the information hopefully is found. However, one can directly ask the IntraBot, “What type of work phone would be good,” prompting the bot to search within the intranet for parameters (like budget and supported models) and then fetch models that match those criteria from the public internet. Through a conversational dialogue, the user can refine preferences, such as desired features, while the bot continuously searches for a more fitting recommendation.

Similarly, an employee can inquire, for instance, “If I resign next Monday, when is my last working day?” instead of initially searching for a page regarding ending employment, finding the relevant section, and deducing the answer themselves.

The IntraBot brings ChatGPT features from your own Azure OpenAI environment directly to your intranet. The solution is based on the same language models as ChatGPT but is completely secure and private, not used for training general language models. You can use this solution just like ChatGPT for creating various texts, searches, and analyses without worrying about data leaks. Essentially, with IntraBot, you can even compose press releases, customer communications, and business analyses! Furthermore, it’s conveniently accessible directly from your intranet, perhaps right from the homepage.

How is the IntraBot built, and what’s the cost?

The IntraBot is built on Azure OpenAI and the SPFx framework. Operating costs are based on search volumes, amounting to mere cents per search. We offer installation of the IntraBot at a fixed price: 8000 EUR + VAT.

The implementation takes 1–3 weeks, depending on the availability of required new Azure OpenAI resources. The IntraBot can be installed on any SharePoint Online-based intranet, thus not being dependent on us or any other vendors.
